ThePokies App
ThePokies App review
I have put in some time with the ThePokies app of late and can say my feelings on it are quite positive. For a mobile casino, the navigation is intuitive to the point of being surprising; it also has no trouble loading. There were one or two small quirks I came across at first, but they never got in the way.
The game selection is well-put-together and extensive. And the filters are not just for show, they are of actual use. I will admit the deposit side of things was easier than I had thought it would be. My own ThePokies reviews work prior to the install made me think I might be in for a coarser experience. ThePokies app is equally unobtrusive when it comes to account management, an important detail. You do not have to hunt for your bonuses either. If there is one shortcoming, the notification settings are in need of more control. But then again, having read the other ThePokies reviews, I am in agreement that this is a platform you can count on for reliable mobile performance.
Information about the ThePokies app
I put in some time to get to know the ThePokies app before I made up my mind to use it on a regular basis. On mobile it is smooth enough, and the download was quick. I will admit to having a few reservations at the outset, though that may be old habits talking. A perusal of ThePokies reviews from fellow players put me at ease; you have your share of opinions there, with some touting the range of games and others complaining of slow withdrawals. It is not without its flaws.
Still, for everyday play the app has proven reliable. The question of whether ThePokies is safe when one is putting down real money was something I could not let go of, but once I had looked over the licensing I was satisfied. By the standards I hold myself to, ThePokies is safe. And I find the interface quite intuitive.
Advantages of ThePokies Casino App
I have to say, the ThePokies app put in a better performance than I had any right to expect. I went ahead and downloaded it on a whim and have been at it ever since; perhaps that is testament enough.
A few things in particular caught my eye:
- Fast load times, even on a slower connection
- Clean layout that does not feel cluttered or confusing
- A solid range of pokies and table games in one place
- Easy deposit and withdrawal process, no strange hoops to jump through
- Responsive support when I had a small question about my account
If one were to read through the ThePokies reviews, the sentiment from other users would be familiar. They value the no-nonsense design and the fact that the app is stable, which is as it should be. There is no pleasure in having an app give out in the middle of a spin. As for safety, ThePokies is safe; I can vouch for that from my time with it and the licensing details I have looked over. It is not going to be the most showy of apps, but then again, it is solid and you can count on it.
How to download and install ThePokies?
There is no great mystery to the ThePokies app download process, even if I was a bit at a loss for it on my first go round. You will not be able to pick up a native app from the App Store or Google Play as the site does not put one out there. My approach was to head to the official ThePokies domain via the browser on my phone and use the prompt that appears to put a shortcut on the home screen; in practice it works just like an app should.
If you are on Android and after the ThePokies apk file proper, certain iterations of the site will let you have it. Just make sure you are getting it from the official domain and not some other source. One has to enable installs from unknown sources in the Android settings to sideload, so do yourself a favour and verify that is in order before you start. I made the mistake of overlooking it once and found it rather irritating.
How to register in the ThePokies app?
I was able to put my name down with ThePokies app in less than five minutes. I must say, I thought it would be a bit more of an ordeal. The app makes for easy work of it. Once you have it downloaded, hit the sign-up on the home page and a form will come up for your particulars: name, email, date of birth and so forth. Be sure to enter them correctly and make yourself a password that does not require an effort to recall. A link is sent over for you to confirm your email; do that and you are done. In some parts of the world they might want to see ID, but for me the process was all very smooth. Perhaps too much so that I had to go back and make certain I did not overlook something.
| Step | Action | Where | Time Needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Download app | App store | 1 min |
| 2 | Fill in details | Registration form | 2 min |
| 3 | Create password | Password field | 30 sec |
| 4 | Verify email | Email inbox | 1 min |
All in all, it is a quick affair to register.
Betting options at ThePokies Australia
One can put in more time than is perhaps warranted at ThePokies simply looking over the breadth of betting on offer. Slots are the obvious attraction, but then there are the table games: blackjack, roulette, baccarat and the like. I have noticed the limits are not uniform from one to the next; some will have you putting down a higher minimum before you know it, while with others I can start small, which is fine by me.
There is sports betting as well for the major leagues and an odd niche event or two that was a pleasant surprise. As for live dealer games, my own preference, they allow for real time adjustments to the stakes. You could say the flexibility is there. The pokies section has the most to choose from in terms of bet size, a few cents to quite a bit more, so it is well suited to whatever the mood or budget may be.
ThePokies games for mobile
I will admit I put in the bulk of my time on this platform via mobile. The ThePokies app is convenient for getting to the games no matter where one is, and I make use of that more than I ought to. Even on a small screen the selection is fine; the slots are quick to load and the touch controls have a natural feel to them, unlike the awkwardness you might get with some of the competition. Whether that is down to the interface or simply that I have acclimatised to it, it does the job. I can go through a long session with the live table games and they run without a hitch. As for any bonus features that are a little hard to come by on the app, that is of no consequence. There is no need to bother with the desktop when the mobile experience is so adequate.
Frequently asked questions
You don’t need to go through the trouble of an app download to play at ThePokies Casino; I do it right from my mobile browser. It works well on most smartphones and tablets. The site is smooth to use and while the experience isn’t quite the same as being at a desktop, it is close enough that I hardly think about the app.
It is a straightforward process to get set up. On my phone I will go to the ThePokies Casino website and into the mobile area to start the ThePokies app download. For those of us with an Android device, one can simply take the ThePokies apk file and run it after permitting unknown sources in the settings.
There is no shortage of games in the ThePokies Casino app. Pokies are by far the largest offering, but you will also come across table games such as roulette and blackjack. I have even seen some live dealer choices, which is a nice addition. So if I am feeling like spinning the reels or want to put in some time with a more sedate game, the app has something for me.
